Make it easy to import the right way

Long Beach, Calif. – As a continuing public service, E.C. Ferrer Custom House Broker, Inc. is sponsoring another half-day seminar for importers, entrepreneurs, distributors, wholesalers and retailers on Oct.  26 from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.  at the Long Beach Marriott Hotel on 4700 Airport Plaza Drive. Complimentary breakfast will be available and served upon   registration.

After 31 years in the customs broker industry, Eddie C. Ferrer and his veteran staff of entry writer specialists have gained valuable insight and expertise that they want to share these knowledge with the business trade community in Southern California. As a top honcho of his brokerage and forwarding firm since 1985 and as a Certified Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT) since 2003, it has become his mission as a customs house broker to inform and educate importers to “make it easy to import the right way.”

In the past few months, many changes have taken place in the U.S. Customs and Import industry. This free seminar will update the industry players about the Customs Reauthorization Bill, the New Custom’s ACE-One Window Environment, Antidumping and Countervailing Duty, Intellectual Property Rights, Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT), Safety of Life At Sea (SOLAS), Trade Agreements-Generalized System of Preference, Fines and Penalties, Product Classifications and role of Customs Center for Excellence and Expertise Division, upcoming Customs Broker Known Importer Program, and other relevant changes .

As of this writing, President Felix Lopez of the Fil-Am Chamber of Commerce – South East Corridor (FACC-SEC), Coalition of Associations At South East Corridor (CASEC) composed of various Asian Chambers of Commerce, and Executive Director Dennis Nnyondo of the African Empowered Communities-USA (AEC-USA) have signified their interest to participate in this rare seminar that is also aimed at improving and maintaining balance of trade and commerce with the U.S. in an unimpeded flow of products and goods from the Philippines and other countries. .

Various topics that will also enlighten importers include recent rules of engagements under the new One Window-ACE portal where other partnered government agencies will be linked in — Food & Drug Administration, Federal Communications Commission, Federal Maritime Commission, Department of Agriculture, and Environmental Protection Agency, among others.  This particular subject is a “must hear” for importers on record with customs.

This free seminar is open to everyone doing import business and planning to be in the import industry.  Accommodation is limited and will be on a first-come, first to register basis. Precise and pertinent information from a panel of seasoned professional entry writer specialists will serve as resource speakers. The information will be presented in timed, concise, and practical methods to allow reasonable time parameter for question and answer
