RTC offers free transit rides this New Year’s Eve

Riders should plan for modified holiday transit schedules and detours

(Las Vegas, NV) – RTC is pleased to announce that it will once again offer free rides on all transit routes on New Year’s Eve. To ensure a safe travel option for locals and visitors celebrating the holiday and traveling throughout Southern Nevada, free transit rides are available from 6 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 31 (New Year’s Eve) through 9 a.m., Thursday, Jan.1 (New Year’s Day). Transit riders can board any RTC bus route without purchasing a pass or presenting fare.

“New Year’s Eve is a big night for Las Vegas, and RTC is happy to provide free rides to those joining the celebration” said M.J. Maynard-Carey, CEO of RTC. “Ensuring that everyone in Southern Nevada has a reliable and safe way to reach their destination is a focus for RTC year-round, and providing that service is an honor. Stay safe, and cheers to a successful 2026!”

The RTC transit system will operate on a Saturday schedule on Wednesday, Dec. 31 (New Year’s Eve), and a Sunday schedule on Thursday, Jan. 1 (New Year’s Day).

Additionally, riders are advised to plan for significant transit detours on New Year’s Eve using the rideRTC transit app, which provides real-time information about bus locations and arrival times, or by visiting rtcsnv.com/newyears.
