The two chefs will transform the mezzanine level of Chinatown’s Far East Plaza into a vibrant DTLA party space inspired by their favorite childhood summer memories. Guests will experience an all-you-can-eat offering of Filipino inspired dishes, beer, wine and cocktails from Faith & Flower’s Darwin Pornel, and DJs spinning everything from classic hip hop to modern disco. No Kid Hungry is ending childhood hunger in this nation by ensuring that kids start the day with a nutritious breakfast and families learn the skills they need to shop and cook on a budget. Already, No Kid Hungry and its partners have connected kids struggling with hunger with 460 million meals.
The special BBQ is being held to support No Kid Hungry’s Chef’s Cycle fundraiser, in which Michael Hung and his team partner Abby Gavino are joining nearly 200 chefs and restaurant industry professionals who have committed to ride their bikes 300 miles in order toall help make sure all kids get the healthy food they need, every day.
