ABS-CBN President Charo Santos heads list of October birthday celebrants

In 1973, Rizal Governor Adelina Rodriquez sponsored the first Green Revolution Trade and Exposition Industrial Fair in Pasig that was highlighted by the nationwide search for Miss Green Revolution.

I was the chairman of the beauty competition, whose winner was none other than Rosario Navarro Santos, now known as Charo Santos-Concio, president of ABS-CBN 2, making her the first woman president of a media conglomerate in the Philippines.

Ms. Santos-Concio is in charge of the company’s total business portfolio, taking over interim president Eugenio Lopez II.  She is also the host of the network’s longest running drama anthology, Maalaala Mo Kaya, which has been running for 22 years.

Madam Charo will be celebrating her 59th birthday Monday, October 27.
