AGE does not matter they say, especially when it involves love. For top comedienne Ai-Ai delas Alas, the age difference with her new boyfriend is not a hindrance to their relationship.
Just last September 13, during the birthday celebration of director Wenn Deramas, Ai-Ai finally introduced her 20-year-old boyfriend, Gerald Sibayan, to her friends in showbiz.
However, previously, the actress already acknowledged Gerald in her annual Mass celebration of the Virgin Mary’s birthday on September 8. That was the first time for she introduced her young boyfriend to her non-showbiz friends.
Gerald, on his part, confirmed through PEP.ph his relationship with the comedienne last September 15.
The young man was a star player of the De La Salle University (DLSU) badminton team. He is taking up Sports Management.
Last July, the Comedy Queen hinted that she was finally seeing someone after the traumatic breakup of her marriage to Jed Salang. Ai-Ai, however, refused to give his name, because of their age difference.
Ai-Ai is turning 50 on November 11.
According to Direk Wenn, Gerald’s parents are retired soldiers. When Ai-Ai was asked whether Gerald would want to join the military, she said that her boyfriend wants to be a pilot.
“Pina-retire ko na para…kailangan kasi, bago ka mag-four years sa PAL, graduate ka ng four-year course,” said Ai-Ai in an interview with PEP.ph. “So kailangan niyang bilisan ang pag-aaral niya.”
Since romance is in the air, the actress was asked if they already have wedding plans.
“Ay, hindi! Waley, waley. Ayaw. Ayaw!,” Ai-Ai quickly said. She also dismissed the negative reactions about their age gap, saying that it is better to be in a relationship with a younger man, than with a married one.
Here’s to Ai-Ai and her new love! May she have found the one true love that will really last.

After weeks of absence from TV, we are glad to hear that the King of Talk, TV host Boy Abunda, is back.
Boy recently had to undergo surgery, where doctors had to aspirate abscess from his liver.
Just last September 14, Boy was welcomed by co-host and friend Queen of All Media Kris Aquino, close friend and actress Gretchen Barretto and Toni Gonzaga on The Buzz.
Boy thanked Gretchen and Kris for the love and support they gave him when he was sick, and for always being there for him.
During the show, Kris hinted how she is so excited about her gift for Boy’s birthday, which is not until next month. Although Kris managed to not spoil the beans earlier in the show, Gretchen was able to tease her to reveal it.
“No, hiningi mo dati eh. Sinabi mo ‘yung Hummer gusto mo,” Kris said and then explained, “Nung binuhay siya sinabi ko talaga gusto niya talaga ito…Gusto niya. Sumakay siya doon sa Hummer tapos sinabi niya ‘Gusto ko ito.’”
The Queen of All Media also shared that she talked to her sons Bimby (with James Yap) and Joshua (with Philip Salvador) about it first and they agreed.
