In a rare display of professional composure and long-term commitment, Iwa Moto and longtime partner Panfilo “Pampi” Lacson Jr. have announced plans to marry in August 2028, following the completion of Lacson’s annulment from actress Jodi Sta. Maria.
Moto, who first rose to prominence in reality television and later established a career in Philippine dramas, confirmed the engagement on Fast Talk with Boy Abunda. She shared that Lacson had given her a promise ring early in their relationship, a symbol of a commitment now formalized through their planned wedding.
The couple has spent 14 years navigating the complexities of a blended family. They have two children together, Hiromi(b. 2013) and Caleb Jiro (b. 2021), while Lacson’s son Thirdy from his previous marriage to Sta. Maria remains part of their extended family network.
In an unusual and noteworthy gesture of goodwill, Sta. Maria will serve as one of Moto’s bridesmaids. Moto described their relationship as having evolved from limited interactions into a genuine friendship, fostered by shared parenting responsibilities and mutual respect.
The couple has chosen to hold their wedding after the 2028 national elections, citing both practical and personal considerations. Moto emphasized that the ceremony will be self-funded and kept intimate, reflecting a preference for privacy while managing public visibility.
Their engagement and forthcoming wedding draw attention not as a headline event, but for the way the couple has managed public attention alongside personal and family transitions over an extended period.
The 2028 nuptials are therefore significant not just as a personal milestone, but as a reflection of a long-term partnership that has successfully balanced professional demands, family life, and media scrutiny.
