“In the midst of winter, I finally learned that there was in me an invincible summer.” —Albert Camus
With the still unfolding realities, stories and uncertainties gripping us today, many of us may be wondering if there is still something to be thankful for. We watch CNN or FOX, or read the Times, and it becomes too easy to miss the proverbial light at the end of the tunnel.
However, these are actually the worst of times and the best of times. Somebody up there is merely sending us a message, prodding us to push our limits, become creative individuals, and most important of all, realize the things that truly matter—an April shower, the glory of a flower, an old Radio Flyer or a Cabbage Patch, a hug from the kids, finding a muse or a long-lost friend, even the kindness of strangers.
What more could we ask for except, perhaps, ‘that invincible summer.’ And a little more time to count our blessings.
