SAN FRANCISCO – The San Francisco Filipino American Chamber of Commerce (SFFACC), in partnership with AHMC Seton Medical Center, invites the community to the Health Horizons Summit on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Seton Medical Center (1900 Sullivan Avenue, Daly City).
This groundbreaking event brings together individuals and organizations passionate about health, business, technology, and community development — especially within the Filipino small business community and its allies.
The summit, rooted in the Filipino value of bayanihan (communal unity and cooperation), focuses on the importance of building partnerships to support one another in times of need. Health Horizons is designed for business owners, healthcare professionals, caregivers, and families, and it offers relevant topics and opportunities for dialogue.
Summit highlights include:
- For small business owners (especially minority-owned): Discover opportunities to partner with large healthcare institutions like Seton Medical Center and learn about government and private programs that support small business growth. Attendees will hear inspiring success stories from Filipino American entrepreneurs.
- For healthcare practitioners: Explore the latest in healthcare innovations and technologies that are transforming patient care. Network with peers and discuss solutions for delivering high-quality care across various settings.
- For families and caregivers: Learn about free services available for dependents who may not have access to healthcare. RotaCare Northern Peninsula Free Medical Clinic will present its community programs and offerings.
Topics of discussion during the summit will focus on the following:
- Changes in healthcare policy and how they affect communities
- Emerging technologies in home and clinical care
- Success stories from Filipino Americans in the home care industry
- Opportunities for small businesses and minority-owned enterprises.
Featured Speakers and Panelists include Tim Schulze, Associate Chief Operating Officer, Seton Medical Center; David Canepa, president of the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors; Dr. Rod Daus-Magbual, Daly City mayor; Rico and Meryl Foz, founders, Careway Management LLC; and Vanessa Valerio, co-founder, Health Indeed.
“We are doing everything possible to be the best we can be,” said Schulze. “I hope this is the beginning of more public events where we can inform our partners — patients, clients, and vendors — about the ways we serve our community.” Seton Medical Center also supports RotaCare.
Rico Ligon-Foz shared, “I manage four assisted living and adult residential facilities. My wife, Meryl, is a registered nurse and Executive Director of Healthy Living at Home, a Mission Healthcare Company. We are proud to be part of a growing community that lifts each other up.”
Event Sponsors are AHMC Seton Medical Center (platinum); and SuccessLink Outsourcing, Redwood Credit Union, OpenClassRooms and Seafood City (gold).
