We are pleased to invite you to an exhibition that explores the first decade of Pacita Abad’s artistic journey, from 1976 to 1986. Curator Clarissa Chikiamco focuses on the formative years of Abad’s career, beginning with her studies at the Corcoran School of Art in Washington, D.C., and continuing through her return to the Philippines in 1982, up until her departure from Manila in 1986.
Drawing entirely from local collections, this exhibition highlights the evolution of Abad’s artistic voice and her growing confidence as a painter, both in the Philippines and abroad. Join us in celebrating the early years of a celebrated artist whose work continues to resonate today.
