Tourism Secretary Wanda Corazon Tulfo-Teo

Born in Kidapawan, Cotabato on November 4, 1952.  Wanda Corazon Tulfo-Teo graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree from Saint Theresa’s College in Quezon City.
Teo started her modest professional career in the travel and tourism industry as a flight stewardess for Filipinas Orient Airways and Niugini for years.  After discovering how lucrative the travel and tours business can be, she ventured into it by putting up her own company.
From her humble start to now being the Department of Tourism Secretary, Teo’s advocacy of evangelizing Philippine tourism to others makes her perfect for the current’s administration vision in making a change in the country.
Here are some of her notable achievements:
•  President & CEO, Mt. Apo Travel and Tours, Inc.  – 1994 to June 2016
•  Pioneered to promote Davao City as a leading tourist attraction:
–  President, Davao Association of Tour Operators (DATO)
–  President, Davao Travel Agencies Association (DTAA)
–  2nd Vice President, National Association of Travel Agents (NATA)
–  Secretary of Tourism Congress
–  Vice President, Davao Regional Tourism Council (DRTC)
–  Chairman, Network of Independent Travel Agencies (NITAS) Davao Chapter
–  President, National Association of Independent Travel Agencies (NAITAS)
Davao Chapter.   NAITAS is the biggest travel agency organization in the
Philippines, with more than 400 members and 13 chapters.
•  Teo was the brains behind the NAITAS Travel & Trade Show (NTTS), dubbed as the Philippines’ liveliest travel, tourism, technology and trade fair.
•   Leadership Award and Plaque of Recognition from NAITAS National Congress
•   Presidential citation and award from NITAS Davao
•  Participated in various tourism conferences internationally like the CTW Asia Pacific in Bangkok, Thailand (2011); the ITB Berlin in Germany (2010) and the Brunei Darussalam-Indonesia-Malaysia-Philippines East ASEAN Growth Area (BIMP-EAGA) Trade Tourism & Investment Forum in Malaysia (1992).
