Singer and actress Vina Morales says she’s now ready for love

YES, sexy actress and singer Vina Morales says she is ready for another relationship after being single for years.  In an interview during the talk show Aquino & Abunda Tonight last July 7, Tuesday, the 39-year-old Vina said, “I’m ready for love!”

She also admitted to dating a guy some time ago, but explained that their relationship didn’t develop to anything serious.

The Kapamilya star added that she is willing to take a step back on her career if she finds the right one and ready to settle down.

“When I find someone, I’m probably on the stage na I can lay-low pagdating sa career ko.  Kasi kahit papaano naman mas priority ko na siguro ‘yon,” she said.

Vina also hopes to fulfill her six-year-old daughter’s wish to have siblings.

At the moment, the singer/actress is busy with her TV series Nasaan Ka Nang Kailangan Kita and her upcoming guesting in Rey Valera’s concert in August.

Superstar Nora Aunor’s next project is called Tasaday, a film by Adolf Alix Jr., which tells the plight of Stone Age people reportedly discovered in Mindanao in the 1970s.

For the title role, La Aunor will reportedly go naked from the waist up, keeping it real for the period it represents.  Of course, going topless is no issue for the Superstar because of her professionalism. Also, it isn’t the first time she has gone half-naked on film.  She did it first in 1974 for the film Banaue, under her own production company, NV Productions.

Nora’s native Filipino look gives her a list of possibilities in transporting the stories of cultural minorities to film.  She had been an Igorot in Banaue, a Badjao woman in Thy Womb, and now a Tasaday.

Actress Judy Ann Santos has taken a leave of absence due to her delicate pregnancy.  Because of this, she was willing to relinquish her role in the new ABS-CVN TV series Someone to Watch Over Me. However, she has confirmed that her bosses at the Kapamilya network decided to wait for her return before resuming production.

“I almost cried when Sir Deo (Edrinal, business unit head) told me about the decision of Dreamscape (series producer).  I was touched,” Judy said during the press conference for her cookbook, Judy Ann’s Kitchen.

“I was more than willing to give up the project.  I didn’t want to be unfair to the rest of the cast.  I love the role, but I don’t want to be branded unprofessional and selfish.”

Together with her in the series are Richard Yap, Diether Ocampo, Eddie Garcia, Yam Concepcion and Tirso Cruz III.

Judy Ann was supposed to play an agent of the National Bureau of Investigation in the series to be directed by Trina Dayrit and Onat Diaz.

“That would require me to do actions scenes.  Right now, I’m OK with TV appearances and hosting gigs—nothing too stressful.  I also don’t think I can handle heavy drama scenes,” she said.

Sharing that her pregnancy now is “slightly different” from her son Lucho (who is now 4), Judy Ann said that maybe it’s because she and her husband, Ryan Agoncillo waited for this baby for a long time.  They also have a 10-year-old adopted daughter, Yohan.

She also said the baby was the best Father’s Day gift to Ryan, adding that they have become much closer as a couple.

Any news about another person’s death is sad, but hearing a young person taking her own life makes one realize how fragile our lives are.

I am deeply saddened to hear the death of 15-year-old Julia Buencamino, a young actress with full of promise.  She was the second lead star in the daily noontime TV series on ABS-CBN, Oh My G.

Julia died by hanging on the night of July 7, the doctors at the Cardinal Santos Medical City in San Juan said.

The young actress was born into acting.  Her parents—father Nonie Buencamino and mother, multi-awarded actress Shairmaine Buencamino—are both well respected and admired in the industry.

Although her young co-stars said that Julia never showed any signs of depression with them, her recent artworks seem to reflect troubling images.  She described one of her paintings that she posted online as “hooliabanana kiss this dead girl walking.” While a on Instagram showed her pointing a gun-like gesture on her head, her eyes quite white. Another photo showed a wound edited onto her neck.

Julia’s parents said in a statement that they would like to make a firm request to allow them to mourn her passing in private.  They said they wanted to “remember Julia and celebrate her life in peace and quiet.”

Our heartfelt condolences to the Buencamino family.
