IT’S still the love month, and although Valentine’s Day has passed, we want to feel love not just during February but also throughout the year.  We also welcome new beginnings – the start of a new chapter in one’s life.

One couple that is celebrating a milestone is band member Mark Escueta and actress Jolina Magdangal, when their union was blessed with the arrival of their first-born last February 18 at the Asian Hospital.   The new parents have named their baby boy Pele Inigo.

Mark shared that Jolina gave birth via caesarean operation, because the actress’ amniotic fluid was decreasing.  The procedure lasted two and a half hours.

Drew Arellano and VJ/TV host Iya Villana has decided to end their 10-year relationship by making it official last January 31.  The long-time couple tied the knot at a private wedding ceremony in Meditation Point at Kawayan Cove, Nasugbu, Batangas.  Compared to the lavish, celebrity-ridden weddings, the couple made it a point that their special day was less ‘showbiz.’

The Diamond Star Maricel Soriano has moved to the Kapuso Network when she signed a program contract last February 19, at the boardroom of GMA Network Center.

The actress is set to star in the network’s upcoming primetime series, tentatively titled Ang Dalawang Mrs. Real.  Joining her in the series are actor Dingdong Dantes and actress Lovi Poe, under the direction of Andoy Ranay.   The executives in GMA are also happy that Maricel has decided to work with them, as they feel she will be able to teach the younger generation of talents under the network.

The Diamond Star has had a rough ride the past years, and so she is happy to be able to start anew with the Kapuso network.   Aside from the controversy with Gerald Anderson (and being let go from a TV series), she also had to face a lawsuit and accusations from a former househelp.  Maricel’s mother, Linda Dador Martinez, passed away in 2009.
