THEY say love is lovelier for the second time around and this holds true for actress Angel Locsin and actor/TV host Luis Manzano. It can be remembered they were a couple a few years back.
When they ended their relationship, Luis became involved with Kapuso actress Jennylyn Mercado while Angel dated footballer Fil-Brit Phil Younghusband. Then just last year, the former couple ended their respective relationships.
For more than two years Angel and Luis avoided each other, just to quell intrigues while they were with other people, but apparently what they felt for each other never really died after they broke up.
During the press conference for Angel’s new series The Legal Wife, the actress admitted that she still has feelings for ex-boyfriend Luis. She further confirmed this in a recent interview with Boy Abunda in Bandila, saying that she still loves the actor and they’re talking to each other again.
“Oo, mahal naman. Andyan ‘yung love and hindi naman nawala. Pero hindi ibig sabihin nun na magiging kayo ulit or magkakabalikan kayo,” she said. She also added that she is hoping for a reconciliation, because “wala naman akong ibang makita.”
In a separate interview, Luis said that they are starting to rebuild the relationship and is just as hopeful that things will turn out for the better between him and Angel.
Although many were surprised by Angel’s admission of love for an ex-flame, people also admired the actress honesty. In showbiz where are there more denials than actual truth from stars, pouring out one’s emotions is a rare thing.
“Hindi po ako ipokrito. Honest lang po ako. Hindi ko po ugali pigilan ang emosyon ko,” Angel said.
Angel’s ex-boyfriend Phil however, said that he still loves her. Jennylyn on the other hand, wishes Luis and Angel well, but wants to stay out of the picture.
“For now, I don’t want to talk about it. Kung meron man issue about them, siguro sila na lang tanungin ninyo,” she said at the press conference of GMA’s newest teleserye, Rhodora X. She also added, “Kasi ako wala na ako sa posisyon para magsalita.”
We will see if the fires of romance will continue to rekindle for Luis and Angel. As for Phil and Jennylyn, we wish that they’ll find love again.
