MANILA — Kris Aquino will join longtime television collaborator Boy Abunda for a two-part interview airing October 28 and 29 on GMA Network. The appearance will bring the former talk-show partners together in person on television for the first time since their joint program ended in 2015.

Abunda confirmed the special during the October 21 episode of Fast Talk with Boy Abunda, following a network teaser about the reunion. The interview is part of a weeklong series of episodes marking his October 29 birthday.

At an October 20 media briefing, Abunda said the recorded conversation lasted more than two hours. He said they discussed Aquino’s health, her work and finances, personal relationships, political views and family. Her younger son, Bimby, also participated.

Abunda said Aquino described having better days but still experiencing periods when a day of work leaves her bedridden for several days.

On October 16, Aquino disclosed on Instagram that she had undergone an operation after completing work commitments. She also reported symptoms she associated with another autoimmune condition. Aquino, who has publicly discussed treatment for multiple autoimmune illnesses, did not specify the new condition or the procedure.

Abunda said he asked what might persuade Aquino to return to television. He recounted her reply: “I will only go back to television with a king.” Abunda is known as the “King of Talk.” Although he said they discussed potential collaborations, no new regular television program has been announced.

Aquino has resumed selected commercial projects amid continuing treatment. She appeared in an August promotional campaign for Netflix Philippines as a fictional content executive and returned as a Shopee brand ambassador in September. During a September media appearance, she expressed hope of taking on more entertainment work in 2027 while emphasizing the need to choose projects carefully because of her health.

The interview also covered Aquino’s sons. According to Abunda, Bimby spoke of his intention to care for his older brother, Josh, in the future.

In a discussion of politics, Aquino expressed interest in serving as health secretary if given the opportunity, Abunda said in remarks reported by the Philippine Entertainment Portal. His account did not amount to an announcement of a government appointment.

Aquino and Abunda previously co-hosted programs including The Buzz, Boy & Kris, SNN: Showbiz News Ngayon and Aquino & Abunda Tonight. They remained in contact after their last joint program: Abunda visited Aquino in California in 2023, she appeared remotely on his show, and he attended her birthday gathering in February 2026.

Fast Talk with Boy Abunda airs on GMA Network at 4:05 p.m. Philippine time. The second installment of the interview is scheduled for Abunda’s birthday.
