MANILA — Bea Alonzo has yet to announce her next major career move following a recent European trip with husband Ferdinand Vincent Co, as her interim manager handles pending contracts and endorsement inquiries.
Chris Cahilig, who stepped in after veteran talent manager Shirley Kuan resigned in August, said he had not yet met with Alonzo following her recent overseas travel. He said discussions before her trips centered on contractual matters and endorsement opportunities.
Asked whether Alonzo might take a break after her current television commitments, Cahilig did not confirm such a plan, saying the decision would be hers.
Co, meanwhile, has resumed public business engagements. The president of Puregold Price Club Inc. participated in the company’s Hakot Relay event Sept. 19 at Vermosa Sports Hub in Imus, Cavite, which drew more than 4,000 runners, according to organizers.
Alonzo and Co married July 13 in a private civil ceremony at Makati City Hall officiated by Mayor Nancy Binay. In September, Alonzo shared photographs and videos from travels in Italy, including Venice and the Dolomites. Although some entertainment reports described the trip as the couple’s honeymoon, they have not publicly characterized it that way.
Alonzo is also working on GMA Network’s “Whispers From Heaven,” directed by Zig Dulay and co-starring Tom Rodriguez. The production had previously said her existing commitments were taken into account in its taping schedule.
Kuan ended her six-year management relationship with Alonzo on Aug. 11. Cahilig has since been handling the actress’s professional matters on an interim basis.
