MANILA — KC Concepcion shared a recent dinner with Sen. Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan, posting photos and a short video in which she asked her stepfather for advice about navigating life’s uncertainties.
“Finally… date night with Dad. Missed this,” Concepcion wrote in a Sept. 9 Instagram post, describing an evening of good food, conversation and what she called “the best life advice.”
In the accompanying video, Concepcion asked Pangilinan what advice he would give younger people. The senator encouraged her to surrender matters beyond her control and expressed his belief that difficult or uncertain circumstances can have meaning and purpose.
The exchange offered another glimpse into Concepcion’s relationship with Pangilinan, whom she has increasingly referred to publicly as “Dad.”
Earlier this year, Concepcion spoke about growing up in a blended family and the perspective she has gained over time. The daughter of Sharon Cuneta and actor Gabby Concepcion, she said she once called Pangilinan “Tito Francis” but now calls him “Dad.”
She also said she had reached out to Pangilinan to express gratitude as she reflected on family and on eventually building a family of her own.
Cuneta recently addressed her husband’s relationship with KC during an appearance on “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda,” saying the two were “okay.” She explained that KC had lived independently for years and traveled frequently, which sometimes limited the family’s time together.
The dinner followed another public family moment in August, when KC greeted Pangilinan on his 63rd birthday and shared family photographs. She again addressed him as Dad and expressed appreciation for occasions when the family could spend time together. Pangilinan responded to the greeting with thanks.
Pangilinan returned to the Philippine Senate in 2025 and is serving in the 20th Congress.
In her Sept. 9 post, KC also congratulated her mother on “Honor Thy Mother,” the family drama starring Cuneta that premieres globally on Prime Video on Sept. 11.
Concepcion closed her post with a simple wish: “More family QT soon.”
