MANILA — Elijah Canlas has confirmed that he and actress and television host Miles Ocampo have ended their relationship again, while denying allegations that infidelity or another person caused the breakup.
Canlas addressed the separation in a Sept. 1 interview with entertainment personality Ogie Diaz while promoting his upcoming film “Edjop.” He described the breakup as mutual and amicable, said they had tried to make the relationship work after reconciling, and declined to discuss the reasons in detail.
He also denied cheating on Ocampo and said there was no third party involved. His comments represented his account of the breakup.
Canlas also addressed online speculation involving singer-actress Thea Astley after the two were seen together during a trip to La Union. He said Astley was a longtime friend and that others were with them. Astley separately said they had been friends for years and denied being a third party.
Canlas and Ocampo began dating privately around 2021, confirmed their relationship publicly in 2022, separated in 2023 and later reconciled.
Canlas, represented by Cornerstone Entertainment, is promoting “Edjop,” in which he portrays activist Edgar “Edjop” Jopson. The film is scheduled to open in Philippine theaters nationwide this month.
