HONOLULU — The Philippine Consulate General in Honolulu continued its Cultural Box initiative through the turnover of cultural resource materials to the Filipino clubs of Kapolei High School and Waipahu High School on 21 July 2026 and 31 July, respectively.
The Cultural Section represented by Ms. Mia Gaspar and Ms. Patrisse Frias turned over the Cultural Boxes to Ms. Lana Fernandez, Advisor of the Kapolei High School Filipino Club, and Mr. Raymart Billote, Advisor of the Waipahu High School Filipino Club. The Cultural Boxes contain a curated collection of educational and cultural materials—including books, maps, posters, Philippine flags, traditional textiles, and other learning resources—designed to support Filipino student organizations in promoting Philippine history, culture, and heritage among their members.
Through the Cultural Box initiative launched in April 2026, the Consulate, in partnership with Filipino organizations, provides Filipino student organizations and educational institutions in Hawaii and American Samoa with resources that strengthen cultural awareness, foster pride in Filipino identity, and encourage greater appreciation of the Philippines’ rich history and traditions.
The Philippine Consulate General remains committed to supporting educational and cultural initiatives that deepen the connection of young Filipinos overseas to their heritage and strengthen the enduring ties between the Philippines and the Filipino community in Hawaii.
