Honolulu – The Philippine Consulate General in Honolulu organized separate send-off ceremonies for the officers and crew of BRP Gabriela Silang of the Philippine Coast Guard and BRP Miguel Malvar of the Philippine Navy on 02 August 2026 and 03 August, respectively, prior to the vessels’ departure from Honolulu following their successful participation in the 2026 Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) Exercise.

During their stay in Hawaii, both vessels participated in multilateral exercises and engagements with partner navies and coast guards, underscoring the Philippines’ commitment to strengthening maritime cooperation, interoperability, and regional security. Their visit to Hawaii also provided opportunities for the officers and crew to engage with the Philippine Consulate and the Filipino community through various official, community, and socio-civic activities.
Following their departure from Honolulu, BRP Gabriela Silang and BRP Miguel Malvar will conduct separate port calls in Guam before returning to the Philippines.
