Philippine consulate strengthens support for Filipino teachers in Hawaii

Honolulu – Consul General Arman Talbo welcomed Mr. James Urbaniak, Human Resources Officer of the Hawaii Department of Education, to the Philippine Consulate to discuss initiatives aimed at supporting Filipino educators participating in the J-1 Exchange Visitor Program in Hawaii.

The discussion focused on the recruitment and development of Filipino J-1 teachers, the challenges they encounter throughout the cultural exchange program, and possible initiatives to further support their professional development and overall welfare, including financial literacy and capacity-building programs.

The Consulate reaffirmed its commitment to working closely with partners in promoting the welfare and professional growth of Filipino educators in Hawaii.
