The actress and former “Sabado Nights” commercial figure says aging well is tied to balance, self-control and accepting age without fear.
MANILA — Three decades after a beer commercial made her one of Philippine entertainment’s most recognizable faces, Ina Raymundo is again drawing attention, this time for how she has carried her public image into midlife.
Raymundo, who turned 50 in December 2025, remains closely associated with the 1995 “Sabado Nights” commercial that helped define her early career. The renewed attention places that image beside her current work as an actress, mother and television personality who remains visible in the industry.
In a recent television interview, Raymundo spoke about the habits behind her appearance and fitness. She said she had become more mindful about exercise after realizing that some body pains came from working out too intensely. Her routine, she said, is no longer built around nonstop high-intensity training every day, but around balance and control.
Raymundo also said she had temporarily stopped drinking alcohol, describing herself at the time of the interview as 115 days alcohol-free. She clarified that the decision was not because of alcoholism, but because she disliked how occasional drinking made her feel afterward.
Asked whether she feared aging, Raymundo answered directly: no. “I wanna age gracefully,” she said, framing the goal less as preserving youth than maintaining health and avoiding chronic discomfort as she grows older.
Raymundo remains professionally active. She appears in “The Secrets of Hotel 88” as Frida Almazan, the mother of characters played by Mika Salamanca, River Joseph, Josh Ford and Bianca de Vera. She has also said she is open to taking on more daring roles at 50, provided the script and director are strong.
Raymundo’s recent comments give the familiar image a more practical frame. At 50, she is not presenting age as something to outrun, but as something to manage with discipline, perspective and care.
