The Filipino singer advances after a second Golden Buzzer performance and secures a role in the London Palladium staging of the Andrew Lloyd Webber rock opera.

LONDON — Filipino singer and theater actor Matty Juniosa has advanced to the grand final of Britain’s Got Talent Season 19 after receiving a second Golden Buzzer during the April 25 semifinal broadcast.

Juniosa performed Dream On by Aerosmith, delivering a high-range vocal that prompted judge Amanda Holden to send him directly to the final. The moment followed his earlier audition, where Simon Cowell awarded him a Golden Buzzer for his rendition of Purple Rain by Prince.

Receiving two Golden Buzzer selections in a single season is considered uncommon under the program’s format, which allows each judge limited use of the mechanism across the competition stages.

Prior to his UK television run, Juniosa was a Top 12 finalist on Idol Philippines Season 1 and later performed with the vocal group iDolls, building his profile within the Philippine music scene.

Separately, Juniosa has been cast in the London staging of Jesus Christ Superstar at The London Palladium, where he is set to portray Annas, one of the high priests in the production. The role is typically associated with demanding upper-register vocals and precise ensemble performance.

The Britain’s Got Talent final is determined primarily through public voting, with results announced during the live broadcast. Juniosa is expected to compete against other finalists as the season concludes, while his stage casting signals a parallel expansion into the UK theater circuit.
