Some 400 Couples for Christ (CFC)/ANCOP New Jersey members, supporters and friends attended the successful launch of 2012 ANCOP Global Walk held at Conlon Hall of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Bergenfield, NJ on April 28.
CFC members from New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island and Massachusetts came to lend their collective support.
The seven-hour colorful festivity, which started at 2:00 p.m., was dubbed “Pistahan” where most men came wearing Barong Tagalog, while many women showed up in Filipino costumes. Program highlights were: Santacruzan participated in by those who joined the beauty pageant competition, CFC Idol singing contest as well as musical and dance numbers by the talented CFC members around NJ and New York.
The Philippine Chamber Rondalla played Filipino folk music during the festive afternoon and provided music for the evening Santacruzan.
The event, which was originally aimed to raise $10,000.00 to help fund three ANCOP projects, namely: Child Sponsorship Program, Community Development Program and Health Program, raised $22,428.00!
ANCOP Global Walk is set on August 11, 2012 around the US and the rest of the world where there are ANCOP chapters. (ANCOP Walk in the Philippines will be on Aug. 12).
