The Legacy Filipino Martial Arts (FMA) School marked Philippine Independence Day with a cultural gathering at Westlake School for the Performing Arts in Daly City on June 22, 2024.
Vice Consul Adrian Baccay joined the celebration, and thanked Legacy FMA Founder Joseph Bautista for helping Filipino Americans connect with their ancestral roots through Filipino martial arts.
Parangal Dance Company performed Filipino indigenous dances during the celebration.
Legacy FMA teaches a weapons-based martial arts system that pulls from traditional and modern Filipino martial art forms.
The group utilizes sticks, knives and swords as well as empty hand combat, incorporating striking, disarming of weapons, joint locking techniques, and takedowns.
