Kim Kardashian said a trip to the Philippines ahead of her 46th birthday fulfilled a longtime travel ambition, with vivid sunsets and her first scuba-diving experience among the highlights.
The television personality and entrepreneur described the visit in a virtual interview with Filipino journalist MJ Felipe while promoting the second season of her television series “All’s Fair.” Felipe said the conversation took place at 5 a.m. Manila time on Oct. 16, shortly before Kardashian posted photographs from the trip. His interview report was published Nov. 3.
Kardashian, who turned 46 on Oct. 21, said she had long wanted to see the Philippines and arranged the getaway as an early birthday celebration.
She called the destination “absolutely stunning,” describing colorful sunsets above the water and white sand. “I’ve never seen a sunset so colorful,” she said.
The trip also brought an unfamiliar activity. Kardashian said she went scuba diving for the first time, spotting sea turtles and clownfish. She referred to the fish as Nemo, the animated character from “Finding Nemo.”
Sarah Paulson, one of Kardashian’s “All’s Fair” co-stars, expressed surprise during the interview and said the account made her want to visit the Philippines.
Kardashian’s Oct. 16 Instagram post, captioned “Philippines Birthday Adventures,” showed scenes from the beach, a boat ride and an underwater excursion. Other images captured fireworks over the shoreline, a dessert with a birthday candle and sea turtles swimming beneath the surface.
The photographs drew responses from Kardashian’s family and Filipino entertainers. Her mother, Kris Jenner, praised the scenery. Anne Curtis welcomed her to the Philippines, while Ruffa Gutierrez and KC Concepcion were among those who commented.
Kardashian did not publicly identify the island or resort in her post. Although some accounts have suggested a resort in Palawan, the precise location has not been confirmed by Kardashian.
