Chefs Michael Hung (Viviane) and Alvin Cailan (Unit 120) team up to host a Filipino backyard BBQ to benefit No Kid Hungry

LOS ANGELES—Spend an evening feasting with friends and supporting a great charity with Chef Alvin Cailan and Michael Hung at their Filipino Backyard BBQ in support of No Kid Hungry, held on Thursday, June 9, 2016 from 7:00pm to 10:00pm.  The two chefs will transform the mezzanine level of Chinatown’s Far East Plaza into a vibrant DTLA party space inspired by their favorite childhood summer memories.  Guests will experience an all-you-can-eat offering of Filipino inspired dishes, beer, wine and cocktails from Faith & Flower’s Darwin Pornel, and DJs spinning everything from classic hip hop to modern disco.  Tickets for the event are priced at $100 per person with 100% of proceeds benefitting No Kid Hungry’s work to end childhood hunger in America and can be purchased online at www.ticketsite.com

One in five children in this country struggles with hunger. No Kid Hungry is ending childhood hunger in this nation by ensuring that kids start the day with a nutritious breakfast and families learn the skills they need to shop and cook on a budget. Already, No Kid Hungry and its partners have connected kids struggling with hunger with 460 million meals.

The special BBQ is being held to support No Kid Hungry’s Chef’s Cycle fundraiser, in which Michael Hung and his team partner Abby Gavino are joining nearly 200 chefs and restaurant industry professionals who have committed to ride their bikes 300 miles in order toall help make sure all kids get the healthy food they need, every day.
