What’s next for the Queen of All Media?

After weeks of rumors and silence from Kris Aquino’s camp, the Queen of All Media finally confirmed on social media that she is indeed leaving ABS-CBN, which had been her home network for 20 years.

In a three-part Instagram post early Monday morning, Sept. 12, Kris shared her side on why she is leaving the Kapamilya network.

Her first post explained how she was supposed to renew her contract last February, but at that time there was a threat to her life and needed to take it seriously.  Also, Kris added that she had to take time to regain her health and be with her family.

“We didn’t sign then, I went to Hawaii, came back to campaign, then left again.

“Our agreement was we’d talk when I got back.

“That is the risk of taking time for yourself- when you come back there’s no guarantee that a space will be held for you.

“We spoke in July but there was no definite show & no assured time frame of my return on air.

“I perfectly understood- as much as I wanted to believe I was a pillar of the network, everybody is dispensable.

“And I say that with no bitterness- just HONESTY.

“So to all of you saying please don’t leave- it wasn’t a choice that was just mine to make. I take my share of the responsibility.

“And I say that w/ so much gratitude in my heart.”

Although Kris did not say which network she is transferring, she did announce that she will be part of APT Entertainment which is owned by Tony Tuviera, producer of the longest-running noontime show, “Eat Bulaga!”

So what’s next for Kris?  Sources say that she will start taping for her new show that will be produced by APT and will be aired on GMA Network.

The source also said that the program format is different from what Kris has done for ABS-CBN, meaning it will not be a talk show.   No other details were shared because apparently, one of the agreements between Kris and APT was there will be no advance announcements or statements about the show.

Let’s wait and see how things will turn out for Kris in her new home network.
