Wedding bells but no date yet for Toni Gonzaga and Direk Paul Soriano

Although actress, singer and TV host Toni Gonzaga and fiancé director Paul Soriano have announced their engagement and their plans to tie the knot this year, no date has been set yet by the famous couple.

People are speculating that they will get hitched on June 12 since it’s their anniversary, Paul has not confirmed nor denied about it.

“That’s our anniversary….so I guess people speculate,” he said in an interview with Inquirer during the press conference of his latest movie, Kid Kulafu.

The handsome director also admitted that they have been both very busy that he and Toni have only seen each other twice over the past month.

But of course, he assured everyone that they always make time for each other, much more now that they’re planning for their wedding.

“We’ve always found a way…we’ve been together for almost eight years.”

Lately, there’s trouble in Ara Mina’s paradise. Just last Monday, April 6, rumors spread like wildfire about the sexy actress and current beau (and the father of her daughter, Amanda Gabrielle) Bulacan Mayor Patrick Meneses being separated already.

The last public appearance of the couple was during the baptism of their daughter last month and there was no hint of trouble between the two.

Ara broke her silence about the issue by sending a statement through her publicist, Leo Bukas. In the statement, the actress admitted that she and Mayor Patrick are going through challenges with regards to their relationship.

She also thanked all their friends, families and supporters for their concern; and have asked for understanding and prayers for the benefit of their daughter.

Just like singer Joey Albert, we are also thankful for the miracle of healing and life for her.

Just the end of March, Joey had to go through a five-hour surgery on her recurring colon cancer. With 90 percent of her descending colon cut off (with the remaining 10 percent for a re-section procedure), the singer checked for a colostomy bag when she woke up.

“Thank God, there was none,” she said in a text message to Philstar entertainment columnist Ricky Lo. “That was what I considered Miracle #2. From strength to strength, one day at a time, one miracle at a time.”

Diagnosed with cervical cancer in 1995, Joey went into remission for 12 years. Then in 2003, the cancer came back but this time in her colon. She was in remission again after that, until her colon cancer came back.

“It being the third time, I feel that I have to fight harder not only physically but mentally as well. In certain situations, it’s easier to be brave when you are clueless about what’s coming,” she said. “This time, I knew the extent of pain and difficulty of recovery and chemo that I will be undergoing.”

To determine the extent of the cancer, she did a CT scan. Doctors found a cyst in the tail of her pancreas, but Miracle #1 came in she said, because tests showed it was benign.

Miracle #3 for Joey came when the doctors also found that the cancer had affected one lymph node near her kidney.

“Again, just in time for a cancer that might have been. It’s a good thing to always be thankful for what’s there,” she said and added, “But sometimes we must also be thankful what’s not there and, by God’s grace, never will be.”

Let’s all put in our prayers for Joey’s continued recovery.
