Kris Aquino and Ai-Ai delas Alas finally reconcile at Dingdong and Marian’s wedding

ONE of the things people wish for before going into a new year is being able to reconcile their broken relationships with friends or family. Almost a year of not talking to each other, former good friends Queen of All Media Kris Aquino and comedienne Ai-Ai delas Alas finally set aside their differences and finally made up.

The reconciliation actually happened last December 30, during the wedding of GMA 7’s royal couple, Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera at the Immaculate Conception Cathedral in Cubao, Quezon City. Both ladies were part of the wedding entourage—Kris as a principal sponsor, while Ai-Ai was a secondary sponsor.

Based on an Instagram post of YES! Magazine, Kris and Ai-Ai were seen approaching each other, hugging and then kissing outside the church.

According to Kris, it was her who approached the comedienne, just before the wedding ceremony. She also told Ai-Ai, “Peace na tayo.”

Speculations of their broken friendship started around February of last year, which some say stemmed from Kris’ absence when Ai-Ai was mourning the loss of her mother last December 30, 2013. That time, Kris was in London, but it seems that Ai-Ai has closed her heart to their friendship since then and has remained mum about the issue.

Knowing about the friction between her guests, Marian remained hopeful that everything will come out good in the end. In an interview, she said, “Ay, naniniwala naman ako na itong mga inimbitahan naming ay magiging prayoridad nila ang kasiyahan na nararamdaman namin. At saka, nandoon tayo para positive lahat.”

Kris shared that she was already ready for the possibility that Ai-Ai may “snub” her. In an episode of Aquino and Abunda Tonight last January 6, the Queen of All Media admitted that she carefully thought about how she will patch things with Ai-Ai and what gift she should give her.

“I felt that we were bound to bump into each other. So inisip ko, I wanted to give her something with meaning,” she said.

The gift she gave Ai-Ai was a necklace with a pendant of the Virgin Mary. Both devotees of Mama Mary, Kris also shared that during their stint in Pilipinas Got Talent, there were times that Ai-Ai’s priest friends would come and celebrate the Holy Mass for them.

We are happy this is (another) start of a beautiful friendship.
