It’s official: Derek Ramsey confirms relationship with Cristine Reyes

AFTER his controversial break up with ex-girlfriend Angelica Panganiban, one would think that hunky actor Derek Ramsey would hard to find love again.

It could remembered that Derek and Angelica’s split wasn’t amicable.  In an interview with StarStudio last March, the actress revealed that they had three major problems troubling their relationship:  Derek being too controlling, the actor’s marriage to a certain Mary Christine Jolly in 2002, and his lack of support in her quest to find her biological father.

A heated argument further ignited the failing relationship between the two, when Angelica said that she doesn’t feel anything anymore.  Derek simply replied back that “It’s over.”

Although it can’t Derek’s marriage and lack of support for Angelica’s search for her biological father may be true at some point, the reasoning that the actor was too controlling was questioned by those who knew him.

In the end, Angelica eventually found love in somebody else’s arms—actor John Lloyd Cruz.

I am sure many single girls (and even gays) out there were secretly happy to find out that Derek is free and available, but the actor seemed not to be too interested in having a relationship with anyone.

Until he finally confirmed that his heart has been captured by sexy actress Cristine Reyes.

Yes, Derek has broken many hearts again after his admission that Cristine is his new girlfriend.  Many still cannot believe it—not because they are not matched for each other, but for how the relationship started.

The actor said, “Everything happened so fast, like I said, we skipped the whole dating (phase).  I guess in the three years that we have known each other, wala naman kaming intention e, any intention naming maging magkaibigan.

Derek had to take back his own words when he declared previously that he doesn’t want a girlfriend from showbiz anymore.  Cristine on the other hand, said in the past that she would focus on her career for one or two years after her failed relationship with ex-boyfriend Rayver Cruz.

Yes, their love story is filled with surprises, romance and kilig moments that one only gets to watch on your teleseryes.  But for Derek, he is not shy to tell the whole world about how he feels about Cristine.  Just last August 31, the actor posted a photo on Instragram showing him kissing Cristine, with the caption:  “This is forever!”

We join many other fans, friends and family of Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez in praying for the  continued healing of her father, Mang Gerry, after surviving a major operation recently.  Aside from being a loving father to Regine, Mang Gerry is also the singer’s mentor and rock during the start of her career.

Via her Instagram account last August 26, Regine requested her followers to post a fan sign for her father.  She posted, “Hi guys, can i please ask for a fan sign from everybody for Mang Gerry? ‘get well soon papa Gerry we love you’ i will gather every pix and make a video out of it. And show it to him.  I’ll make the video tonight so if its not too much to ask…Thank you guys.”

Many of her fans, family and friends in turn answered to her request and posted their get-well messages.  Friends from showbiz like Concert King Martin Nievera, singer/actress Vina Morales, balladeer Erik Santos and actress Kim Chiu were among those who posted.

Another person who has included Mang Gerry in his birthday wishes is Regine’s better half, singer/songwriter Ogie Alcasid.  Ogie, who turned 46 last August 27, shared that they are happy that many are concerned about his father-in-law’s health and well-being.

Last August 30, Regine updated everyone about the current condition of her father, saying that although he is not clearly out of the woods yet, they consider the successful operation a miracle, due to Mang Gerry’s age, being in his 70s.  They also believe that through God’s grace and prayers, her father will pull through.
