Derek Ramsay sued by ex-wife, Lovi Poe and Marian Rivera continues rift

“HELL has no fury like a woman scorned,” they say—and Derek Ramsay realized this too late.

The Fil-Brit model/actor was recently sued by his ex-wife Mary Christine Jolly for violating Republic Act No. 9262, also known as Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children.  The case was filed last June 27 at the Makati City Prosecutor’s Office.

According to the affidavit filed by Mary Christine, she and Derek got married through civil rites on April 3, 2002 in Balagtas, Bulacan.   On June 28, 2003, she gave birth to a son who they named Austin.

Apparently, Derek denied that Austin was his son, accusing Mary Christine of cheating on him.  The actor also asked for a DNA test but failed to show up for it.  Because of this, Derek refused to give financial support to their child.   Records also show that their marriage isn’t annulled yet.

In the affidavit, Mary Christine described their marriage as “rocky,” and that she later found out that Derek was in a relationship with another woman.

But who is Mary Christine Jolly?  Her name came up once, as one of the reasons why the actor and then girlfriend Angelica Panganiban broke up in 2012.   Derek also had a short-lived love affair with Trophy Wife co-star, Cristine Reyes.

The story and photos first appeared on the site Getitfromboy.net and suddenly scattered into other gossip sites.  On pinoyshowbizdaily.blogspot.com, it was said that Mary Christine studied at the Philippine School of Interior Design and is now based abroad, working for an international law firm.

At present, nothing has been heard from Derek’s camp.  We’ll wait and see how this drama goes.

If there’s smoke, there’s probably fire they say—and this may hold true for the rumored rift between actresses Lovi Poe and Marian Rivera.

Just recently, Lovi opened up for the first time about the buzz going around regarding the alleged rift with Marian.  According to reports, the two have snubbed in two separate occasions.

The first incident happened supposedly in a parking lot, where Marian was with her boyfriend, Dingdong Dantes.  It was said that that time, Lovi said “hi” only to Dingdong and totally ignoring Marian.  The actor is Lovi’s co-star in GMA 7’s primetime series, Ang Dalawang Mrs. Real.

The second incident was during the show Sunday All Stars, about two weeks ago.  Lovi was said to be beside her friend, model Solenn Heussaff.  According to sources, Marian walked over to give Solenn a peck on the cheek, but deliberately ignored Lovi.

In an interview with PEP.ph last August 3, Lovi shared that she doesn’t like to be involved in fights.

“It’s a waste of time.  It’s a waste of energy,” she said and added, “Ngayon, I’m just here…be professional.  Nandito lang ako para magtrabaho.  Hopefully, everybody can just be professional and mature about it.”

She also insisted that she is fine, that she refuses to talk about it.  As per her working relationship with Dingdong, she maintained that it has not affected their performances.

Going back to what caused the rift, many say it may have started with actress Heart Evangelista, who is Lovi’s close friend.  It could be remembered that Heart and Marian had some issues during the making of their film, Temptation Island in 2010, which also starred Lovi and Solenn.

However, Lovi is confused how and when Heart got dragged into the whole issue.  For her, she said she has nothing against Marian and that she respects her as a person and actress.
