Creating a memorable experience on your wedding day

One of the biggest milestones in a woman’s life is her wedding day.

Even at a young age, many girls dream of their “perfect wedding.”  They dream of that pivotal moment of seeing themselves walking down the aisle and seeing their groom at the end.  They can only imagine the joy and excitement that they will experience until it is actually their wedding day.

Whether it is a royal wedding, a celebrity wedding, or a simple wedding, every bride has one thing in common: that indescribable and overwhelming feeling of bliss.  In all my years in the beauty industry, I can say that nothing is more beautiful than seeing a woman transform into a radiant bride.  Sharing my God given ability and being given the chance to be a part of a grand journey — such as that of Fil-Am celebrity Joyce Jimenez and Paul Egbalic, Donita Rose and Eric Villlarama and a number of others — gives me inner joy and satisfaction.

Love is a very splendorous thing — it “makes the world go round.” The tradition of two people engaging in marriage, a symbol of unity and love, is a tradition that has lasted for many years.  Today we combine the rituals of the past with the trends of the present to create a memorable experience.

Each couple has a different idea of what characterizes a “perfect wedding,” but often times we run into a number of similarities.

The veil and white wedding dress are symbols of the bride’s purity, innocence, and modesty.

The bouquet and flower décor represent happiness, growth, fertility, and the preparation for starting a new life together.

Wedding rings are the love and bond between husband and wife, to be worn on the ring finger because of the “vein of love” that leads directly to the heart.

The wedding candle symbolizes unity as the two flames merge into one, unable to be separated.

A bride-to-be also has her respective ideal look.  I have encountered a number of different brides whose uniqueness brings out their beauty.  One bride may prefer a trendy look that is sharp and smart with an edgy vibe.  Another may prefer the glamorous and dramatic red-carpet fashion that is sexy, yet mysterious.  There is also the natural bride, with minimal make-up and a radiant smile that says it all.  The preppy bride is calm, cool, and collected, remaining prim and proper with her polished look.  My personal favorite is the classic bride, whose simplistic and sophisticated look is timeless, drawing out her elegance and beauty.

Whichever look is decided upon, the bride and groom usually choose to honor their heritage.  Attire differs by culture, whether it is the Indian sari, Japanese kimono, or the Indonesian kebaya and batik.  As part of Filipino culture, brides may wear a variation of the baro’t saya, such as the Maria Clara, while grooms wear the Barong Tagalog.

Regardless of what anyone’s wedding day consists of, this fantasy coming to life is definitely a day to remember.
