WE’RE a small association of APO-Philippines Fraternity and Sorority alumni and our families.

The official name of the association is: Alpha Phi Omega Alumni Association of South Bay, California, USA. We like to call ourselves APO South Bay for short. We’re also an incorporated fraternal association registered within the State of California. We particpate in the larger APO organization as part of APO-ACNA (APO-Alumni Council of North America) and support it through ID renewals and through particpation and attendance in various projects and events.

The APO organization is a culture in itself and most of APO members like to reconnect with other members to re-live and continue the camaraderie they experienced while in college. We formed this association primarily for these reasons: for friendship and cameraderie. Aside from service projects, we most of all like to have what we call in APO lingo, “fellowships”.

Our activities are family-oriented. We participate in a minimum of four quarterly service projects that benefits our local communities. We like going to the SoCal beaches and in fact most of our service projects are beach clean-ups followed by a day spent at the beach. We don’t like to complicate our lives any more than we have to. In fact, the first thing you’ll notice is how informal we are (especially at meetings). That’s so we can spend more time with our families and enjoy new and exciting activities.

APO South Bay members are mostly from the area in the southwest peninsula of Los Angeles County commonly defined as the South Bay region, but we have association members as far away as the Philippines, Northern California, and Canada. We have an open-membership policy and welcome all APO alumni members. If you’re an APO alumnus and like to have fun, enjoy making friends, don’t like a lot of formality or stress, and like to remain low-key then you’ll like APO South Bay.
