Phenomenal box office star Vice Ganda recently revealed that he was offered to direct his latest film with best friend and award-winning actor, Coco Martin titled “The Super Parental Guardians.”
However, the 41-year-old comedian said he had to decline because of his other work commitments.
“I was actually asked when Direk Wenn [Deramas] passed away, sinabi ng management, ‘Walang ibang puwedeng mag-direct sa ’yo kundi hindi ikaw lang. Kasi iba ang takbo mo ganyan-ganyan. Nakakatuwa kasi pinaparamdam nila ’yon faith nila,sa akin, ’yong belief nila pinararamdam nila, ’yong support ’binibigay nila. Pero ako mismo ang nagsabing, ‘I cannot do it.’ Kasi I have a daily show, “Showtime,” and it would be very hard na pagsabayin ko ’yong dalawa sa paggawa ng pelikula,” Vice explained in an interview with Pep.ph.
(The management said ‘You’re the only one who can direct yourself because you have a different pace, stuff like that. It makes me happy coz they make me feel that they have faith in me, they believe and support me. But I was the one who personally said ‘I cannot do it’ because I have a daily show, Showtime, and it would be very hard to work on both.)
“The Super Parental Guardians” will be Vice’s first movie that is not directed by the Wenn Deramas who passed away in February last year due to cardiac arrest. The late director was the one behind all of Vice’s successful movies since “Petrang Kabayo” in 2010.
“The Revengers,” which is directed by Joyce Bernal, is among the entries in this year’s Metro Manila Film Festival. It also stars Daniel Padilla and Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach.
“It’s a brand-new learning experience kasi no’ng nawala nga si Direk Wenn Deramas, I had to educate myself again kasi it will be a different experience doing a movie with a different director, a different group of people, ibang environment. Kasi sobrang nasanay na ’ko, kumbaga, nakalabas ako sa comfort zone ko,” he shared.

Before i was so used to everything but now I was able to come out of my comfort zone.)
Aside from working on his latest film, Vice has so many things on his plate including hosting the daily the noontime variety show, “It’s Showtime,” and his own Sunday comedy talk show, “Gandang Gabi Vice”.
Vice was also recently included in Yes! Magazine’s List of 100 Most Beautiful Stars.
“Thanks so much YES MAGAZINE for once again including me in your list of 100 MOST BEAUTIFUL. O ayan na ha confirmed beautiful ako! Ang kumontra sasampalin ko ng magazine! Chozzzzz!” Vice said as he expressed his gratitude in a humorous manner via an Instagram post.
(There, it has been confirmed that I am beautiful! I will slap this magazine to those who will disagree.)
“Nakakatawa (that’s funny). Vice Ganda, for me, is a beautiful person because, ah, he is a son who can make his mother smile. And that for me is very beautiful when you can make the most important person in your life smile, like your mom,” Vice added.
