“WALK ME DOWN TO THE WATERFRONT” WEDDING EXPO 2017

A Showcase of Cebu’s Best Bridal Suppliers

Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino recently opened the doors of the majestic Pacific Grand Ballroom for Cebu’s biggest wedding exhibit and fashion show titled “Cebu Wedding Expo 2017: Walk Me Down to the Waterfront”. The event, partnership between Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino, and Dia Gold, gathered Cebu’s most acclaimed wedding suppliers that include wedding planners, event stylists, image stylists, photographers, videographers, and the most creative fashion designers south of Manila.

The event kicked off with a showcase of bridal finery by members of the Cebu Circle of Fashion Creatives. Called “La Voilette”, the opening show featured the stunning works of designers Edwin Alba, Rei Escario, Bree Esplanada, Alejandro Godinez Jr., Pinky Magalona, Mel Maria, Lord Maturan, Manuel Tomaque, Mike Yapching and Rey Humberto Villegas.

In the afternoon, the bridal finery from members of the Fashion Designers Association of the Philippines Cebu Chapter took center stage. “Clair de Lune” put focus on the designs of Mark Anthony So, Griffins Malazarte, Danny Booc, Brendon Val Cenon, Lemuel Rosos, Mel Maria, Hanz Coquilla and Harley Ruedas.

Demos, workshops and seminars for couples-to-be, wedding planners, designers and make-up artists were held inside the Pacific Grand Ballroom. A basic guide for planners, calligraphy instructional and a cake design workshop, among others, were held throughout the day. Other instructional activities included a talk by designer Lord Maturan, and a makeup workshop by Janice the Beauty Fairy.

Capping the event was a bridal gala show entitled “La Relance”. It featured breathtaking bridal couture from some of Manila and Cebu’s most acclaimed designers such as  Avel Bacudio, JC Buendia, Mark Bumgarner, Harvey Cernit, Jun Escario, Michael Leyva, Jojie Lloren, Wendell Quisido, Philip Rodriguez, Val Taguba, Philipp Tampus and Cary Santiago.

As the largest wedding exhibit in Cebu City, “Cebu Wedding Expo 2017: Walk Me Down to the Waterfront”, also highlighted the exquisite amenities of Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino that make it the most ideal wedding venue and honeymoon destination. Anders Hallden, the hotel’s general manager, believes that the versatility of service and amenities make Waterfront Cebu City Hotel & Casino the perfect venue for a romantic wedding.

“We are the only venue in Cebu that is able to handle events with guests from 10 to 4,000.  With our strong ties to the best wedding and party planners in Cebu, we are able to tailor every party to suit the distinct preferences of our clients. No celebration is to small or too big for us to handle,” he explained.

The array of venues within the hotel also makes it a versatile wedding reception venue. The al fresco setting of the lagoon and poolside are perfect for moderate and small, intimate receptions. The capacious Pacific Grand Ballroom, on the other hand, provide the setting for stately wedding dinners. Its square configuration gives guests a vantage view of the stage from all positions on the floor.

The yearly wedding expo also highlights Cebu’s other attractions – a bustling nightlife, some of the world’s best beaches, shopping centers, and warm people – that make for memorable and magical weddings.
