MISS Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach will star in a superhero movie directed by the multi-awarded Joyce E. Bernal.
“The Revengers” cast and crew recently a story conference at the Manila Hotel last Thursday, June 29.
“As of now, we’re still working on the details of the characters but definitely it’s a superhero movie,” Pia told ABS-CBN.
The former Miss Universe will debut her return to acting with comedian Vice Ganda and “La Luna Sangre” star Daniel Padilla for Star Cinema film.
“I’m so excited about that. This is going to be the first time I’m acting in a movie after many years but Vice assured me that he will take care of me and guide me so I think I’m in safe hands,” the beauty queen said.
Pia started as one of the talents of Star Magic and cast members of the teen-oriented program “K2BU” in 2002. She starred in films like “Kung Ako na Lang Sana (2003)”, “All My Life (2004)” and “All About Love (2006).”
She worked with the big names in the industry like Aga Muhlach, Kristine Hermosa, Bea Alonzo, John Lloyd Cruz, etc.
Wurtzbach was one of the recurring judges in “Asia’s Next Top Model” cycle 5 in which Filipina-German Maureen Wroblewitz took home the crown.
One of her most recent projects is in “Maalala Mo Kaya” wherein the episode showcased the hardship she went through before she won the title of Miss Universe 2015.
Her new film, “The Revengers” is one of the entries for the 2017 Metro Manila Film Festival.
The stakes and expectations from the fans are high because Bernal held the Best Director title for the Metro Manila Film Festival in 2013 and also directed the highest grossing film in the Philippines ‘The Super Parental Guardians.’
