“BE Careful With My Heart” actor Marlo Mortel recently opened up about his mother’s courageous battle with cancer.
He revealed that his mother, Merlie Pamintuan, was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer in 2014. She had undergone an open heart surgery to remove the huge cyst found inside her body.
“We’re thankful that it was successfully removed but tests revealed that her cancer is now at Stage 4,” Mortel said in his moving post on Instagram.
He posted a photo of him and his father at her mother’s bedside and captioned it with, “you are definitely a fighter mommy, and me & Daddy will fight with you all the way.”
His mother is still recovering from her recent surgery but still needs to face another set of treatments soon.
In his previous interview with Inquirer.net, Mortel said he would work hard to provide for her medical needs.
“I’ll keep working extra hard for us and we will get through this” read in his post.
The 24-year-old actor recently starred in Regal Entertainment’s “Mano Po 7: Tsinoy” and is currently a co-host on the ABS-CBN morning show “Umagang Kay Ganda.”
He is hopeful for his mother’s recovery and has put faith in prayers as their family rally in this journey together.
“Nothing is impossible with Jesus. I love you so much!” Mortel said. (With reports from Larizza de Vera/AJPress)
