Actor Joshua Garcia refuted the allegation hurled by netizens that he and rumored girlfriend Julia Barretto are “feeling famous” after a picture of them wearing masks while malling went viral.
“The people know how down-to-earth we are,” the young actor said in an interview with Philippine Entertainment Portal (PEP.ph) and Cinema News last July 26, at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3.
Garcia joined the Sunday noontime show “ASAP” tour in Toronto, Canada.
The actor said they wore masks because they do not want to lose their endorsements while shopping.
“When we went to the mall, we buy at stores that we should not visit because we endorse products,” the actor stressed.
Garcia assured that they were not hiding and they just wanted peace.
“We work too much and we just both want to watch ‘Spider Man,’” he said.
He also added that he and Julia do not want to reject people who want to take pictures with them while they were malling.
Netizens bashed them for wearing masks and said they were assuming that people would crowd over them in a public place.
The rumored couple would soon finish their next movie together. Joshua said they are halfway done and the teaser is already out.
