In an interview with ABS-CBN News, Cuenca expressed his excitement towards the new movie.

Cuenca promised to exhaust all his efforts for this character.
“Iibahin ko talaga …on my own way. Like I said, when I do kontrabida I really do it well. And kapag pinagsasama kami ni Coco, it’s magical, sumasabog. And it’s about time to do it in a movie tapos ‘Ang Panday’ pa. (I will really change it [portraying the role]. Like I said, when I do antagonist role, I really do it well. And when Coco and I are together, it’s magical, explosive. And it’s about time to do it in a movie especially it’s “Ang Panday),” he said expressing his joy portraying the iconic role.
Cuenca will also be in the cast of the 13th Cinemalaya entry, “Requited.” He is currently starring in the Kapamilya series “Ikaw Lang Ang Iibigin” with Kim Chiu and Gerald Anderson as Carlos.
