Kapuso Primetime King Dingdong Dantes can hardly wait for his wife, actress Marian Rivera, to give birth. In an interview with 24 Oras at a blog conference for the National Youth Commission last November 17, the actor clarified the rumors that Marian has already given birth.
“Hindi, hindi pa siya nanganganak. I wish!,” he said. He also added that the actress is due “very, very soon” and that they are both waiting in anticipation. “Kaya nga yung phone ko, lagi kong tinitignan kasi nga any moment…So hindi ako puwede masyadong lumayo.”
The actor is confident that he will be there when the moment for their daughter—who they named Maria Letizia—to come out to this world.
Both Dingdong and Marian are ready to become parents. In fact, the actor shared that the moment they got married, they knew it was the start for them.
“Yung buong proseso ng pagbubuntis, ang laking naging bonding namin na kaming dalawa lang,” he said and explained that living as husband and wife has helped.
“Iba yung appreciation namin ngayon sa isa’t isa. Siguro kasi noong nagsasama kami before, puro trabaho naman. Pero ngayon talaga, buhay mag-asawa, nakatutok lang kami sa isa’t isa, lalo na ngayon na may paparating kaming baby,” he said.
Here’s to a safe delivery for Marian and a healthy baby!
More talk about pregnancy and babies—Songbird Regine Velasquez shared that she doesn’t want to get pressured into getting pregnant again, now that her son, Nate, with husband Ogie Alcasid, is already four years old.
Explaining that taking it too seriously takes a lot of effort, especially when relying on medicine to get pregnant.
“It’s very stressful, so ang nangyayari, the more you don’t get pregnant, “ she said in an interview with Pep.ph. “Because stress is a big factor na hindi ka nakakabuo—for both ha—for the man and the woman, ha. So sa amin, ano kami, parang if we’re going to have sex, we’ll have sex because it’s natural and we’re passionate about each other and we love each other.”
Of course, if they do get pregnant, they would be happy, she added. However, she is also realistic about her age (she is now 45 years old) and how it is a big factor in fertility in women.
“Pero kung wala, okey na rin yun. Madyongers [matanda] na ako, ‘teh! Forty-five, majirap [mahirap] na. Pero alam mo, like I said, no pressure. I don’t wanna pressure myself. God already gifted us with a wonderful boy!”
One couple who want to give parenthood a try is comedienne Pokwang and her American boyfriend Lee O’Brien. Although it broke their hearts when they lost their baby through a miscarriage, the couple believed that it made their relationship stronger.
In an interview with Pep.ph last November 11 during a press conference for her new movie, Wang Fam, Pokwang shared that they will try to get pregnant again after she finishes all her showbiz commitments.
“Oo naman, hangga’t keri pa, hangga’t kering-keri pa, why not? Mayroon kaming plano, tinatapos ko muna yung mga bagay na dapat tapusin,” Pokwang said. She also added that it doesn’t matter if they have a boy or a girl, as long as the baby is healthy.
The comedienne said that it was during her miscarriage that she saw how much Lee loves her, especially when she saw him cry.
“Ngayon lang ako nakakita ng lalakeng umiyak nung na-miscarriage ako. ‘Yung pain, sobra, niyakap niya ako. Dahil sa iyak niya, di na ako nakaiyak kasi nakita ko na ang laking tao, humagulgol ng iyak,” she said and added, “Naramdaman ko yung pain.”
According to Pokwang, they have also talked about marriage and she believes that Lee is the one. Aside from being respectful of her family and culture, the comedienne shared that what makes Lee special to her is his acceptance of her daughter.
