A night-full of music, laughter and faith

‘Unity Tour’ Draws Fil-Ams Together in Long Beach

The thousands who came all the way to Long Beach last Saturday, Oct 24, to watch the Unity Tour came home fully satisfied, inspired and proud to be Filipinos. It was an evening of musical celebration, laughter, and fun as the seven incredible artists gave their all to entertain their audience. All the artists -legendary Pop Diva Kuh Ledesma, Asia’s Pop Idol Christian Bautista, singer/comedienne Nanette Inventor, actor Jograd Dela Torre, veteran stage actor and singer Carlo Orosa, powerful singer Isabella Gonzales, and the young balladeer from Britain’s Got Talent, Charlie Green - not only delighted the audience but encouraged them as well to keep faith in God, especially amidst these hard times. Kuh Ledesma admitted that when she planned the Unity Tour with Headline Concepts, Caselin Productions and JIRFoundation, they never thought that the two typhoons would hit the Philippines just before their tour. So, the purpose of the whole concert changed --- to raise funds for the typhoon victims. Pastor Benny Lagos, one of the producers of the concert, told the audience that the Pop Diva is not receiving a single cent from the tour, choosing to give back to her much-loved kababayans.

Nanette Inventor regaled the fans with her two acts – the first one- a hilarious commentary on how men and women face the effects of aging; and the second one – which introduced her new character, Madame Lucky Chan, leaving everyone laughing their hearts out.

Christian Bautista won the hearts of the women in the theatre with his fantastic singing, including songs from his recently released album Romance Revisited with songs by Jose Mari Chan.Stage actor and intense singer

Carlo Orosa proved to the audience that he is not only an accomplished singer but can also be a funny man in his portrayal of Moses, the reluctant deliverer of Israel.

Torre provoked a lot of laughter and fun with his comical performance.

Isabella Gonzalez confessed that she has long been dreaming of someday making it on stage as well. Her impeccable singing confirmed that her time has come to soar to new heights as a songstress.

And as always, Kuh Ledesma thrilled the audience to no end with her timeless love songs and Gospel music.

What made the Unity Tour so wonderfully unique is that it is also filled with Christian messages of hope and faith. It even closed with Pastor Benny leading the audience to a prayer of hope and commitment to God.Kudos to Kuh, Isabella, Nanette, Jograd, Christian, Carlo and Charlie!
