(Part 3)
We ended last week with God, my God, the God of Moses and Israel, who sent His only Son, Jesus Christ to this world, and through the Blessed Virgin Mary, He became man and willingly died on the cross for our sins, to redeem us from the consequences of sin, so that we may be born again and spend the rest of eternity with Them in paradise, giving instructions to Noah on how to build the Ark. God had decided to destroy all mankind and all life on earth with a great flood because the devil succeeded in polluting men’s hearts and minds to such extent that the Lord saw how great the wickedness of the human race had become on earth. God regretted that He had made human beings on the earth.
“I will wipe from the face of the earth the human race I have created, and with them the animals, the birds and the creatures that move along the ground, for I regret that I have made them.” Man blew it big time. Be thankful that you only have debt problems that can be solved by Chapter 7 or 13 bankruptcies. If you were one of Adam & Eve’s 120,000 descendants at that time, and did not have the good fortune of being part of the immediate family of Noah, you and the rest of your family have been sentenced to death without any hope of parole. You are a dead man walking.
It took Noah and his family 200 years to build the ark. Remember the movie 2012 when the Chinese were tasked with building several state of the art arks for those who have been chosen to survive the great flood of 2012 which some people thought was the end of the world according to the Mayan calendar? The Chinese were not around yet that’s why it took Noah 200 years to build the ark. If the Chinese were around to help, it would have taken Noah a maximum of 2 months to finish the ark. But the animals in the ark would have been turned into Dim-sum. Noah was already 600 years old when the ark was completed. No kidding, because the Bible states that, “By the first day of the first month of Noah’s six-hundredth-first year, the water had dried up from the earth.”
“For forty days the flood kept coming on the earth, and as the waters increased they lifted the ark high above the earth. The waters rose and increased greatly on the earth, the ark floated on the surface of the water. .. And all the high mountains under the entire heavens were covered. The waters rose and covered the mountains to a depth of more than fifteen cubits (25 ft)”. The waters flooded the earth for a hundred and fifty days.
“But God remembered Noah and all the wild animals and the livestock that were with him in the ark, and He sent a wind over the earth, and the waters receded. Now the springs of the deep and the floodgates of the heavens had been closed, and the rain had stopped falling from the sky. The water receded steadily from the earth… The waters continued to recede until the tenth month, and on the first day of the tenth month the tops of the mountains became visible.” And you thought the Bible was boring. On the contrary, it is the greatest story ever told! And the Bible is the single best selling book of all time! It is the word of our God and in it the good news of the Gospel is proclaimed that Jesus Christ, the only Son of our God, died for us on the cross for our sins, and on the third day He resurrected from the dead, by His own power and authority as He said He would do. Jesus is the Son of the one true God. Therefore, all other gods are false.
